Hi,
I'm starting down the conversion road and while my engine is on the stand I figure its a no brainer replacing gaskets etc. Its an EJ20 1994 out of a legacy.
I'm quite new to these engines, apart from head gasket, rocker box gasket what pulleys and belts should i be searching out - maybe you know of a kit that would sort me out? (or maybe a shopping list)
I've also posted a wanted ad for a subaru crank holding tool if anyone can help.
Many thanks

Inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets.
For the sump just use that special grey subaru sealant.
Crank shaft seal, cam shaft seals. Rocker covers have inner and outer seals.
1994 should have a plastic oil separator plate behind the flywheel. Change that for a later newage metal one. Their is another shaft cover behind the flywheel. Reseal that up with grey sealant.
Cam belt kit.
Assume you'll need a new resized alternator belt too.
Your local motor factor should be able to supply all these parts. Otherwise it's places like Roger Clark Motorsport, API or Scooby clinic just to name a few. _________________ Think......

I don't know what that is (the grey sealant) what makes it so special?
So on my list I have
Oil filter
Air filter to be added once I've got a solution working
Oil (xW/xx)
Inner and outer rocker gasket/seal
Crank shaft seal
Cam shaft seals
Cam belt kit
Exhaust manifold gaskets (inlet and out)
Head gasket
The timing will be fun |

I can't remember what was so special about it however buying it it's been every so handy. Make an enquiry with roger Clark motor sport about the stuff. I was told to use this instead of a sump gasket. It's been sealed ever since. _________________ Think......
