Hi Kev, welcome to the Darkside m8... I had a feeling you'd be joining when I first read about your scooby plans on vzi.
Can't help you with Subaru stuff as It's not really my subject but I'm sure you'll get loads of help/advice from the other guys though _________________ DARREN

Welcome fella. You're gonna have ups and downs doing this. Then you'll grin yer tits off. Trust me. And I'm only running a 2l NA _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

wot engine are you running again?
if a turbo i would seriously consider going with an intank pump set up...im in the process of doing this in mine...the main reason is cost...I bought a complete tank from a scrap subaru with all the bits (pump, sneder swirlpot etc) built in for £50- had a plate machined up by Alex FTS on here (i still have the drawings but cant read the files to post em on here) and now another mate Jace is TIG welding it into the tank. This has cost me under £70 so far adm uses factory parts - whereas a standalone aftermarket pump and swirl pot would be £150+. Cheers to Ricola for this idea (i cant take the credit) - the other bonus is its very quiet and means I can upgrade the pump cheaply when i comes to future performance mods |

I have a 2.2NA in my Bay (not as neat and tidy as yours!)
I use a pump from an audi, any external pump will do. I use the stock tank outlet, going to a Y piece then a large filter, then the return i connectto the other end of the Y piece, saves connecting up a fuel return. Has run fine like that for two years with both a Megasquirt VW and now the 2.2 Subaru.
To keep things tidy, think about a throttle body inverter or reversing the intake manifold, otherwise the throttle body is very close to the fuel tank. if you use an RJES bell-housing i would imagine it will be even closer. |
