Hi, my 1st hit on this great site.
I have just purchased a VW T2 with a Subaru Forester engine which had been fitted and would start, but the Scooby fuel tank was in the passenger bay, so needed to get the modified VW fitted in the right hole, so engine out and back in, but I now have no Check Engine Light, I have checked all fuses all good, power to main relay and fuel pump relay, engine cranks, but no spark or fuel pump action, can jump fuel pump and it works at full preesure.
The loom is what the seller had "modified", but all lights and stuff work, so not keen to change.
Have I missed somat simples??? help

Hi again, same trouble, I have checked all fuses, relays, changed fuel pump relay, checked ohms on main, changed timing belt and double checked. I have retained scooby instrument console, security key light flashes til inserted and turned on. I have checked continuity on the antenna OK, doubled up earths for good measure. thanks in anticipation

I had a similar issue with my conversion, couldn't get the thing to spark, although at first it ran beautifully and then would randomly just stop sparking until I would change the ecu for a spare I had purchased. Would happen totally randomly and wouldn't start until the ecu was changed. I presumes the ecu was getting fried and by no doubt was related to my home converted loom which I had previously shortened.

The fix

I changed my loom for another and didn't shorten it. To my surprise I discovered that all the ecu's I figured to be burnt out still all work so it defiantly was the loom causing the issue.
