I tried to do it properly and called into a couple of engineering companies, but to no avail..
So i went the table/jig router way..
Did five passes and got the desired 15mm..

Nice to see some else is as crazy as I am.
How you gettin on with the adapter plate. To bolt to engine ?
I'm making up my drive shaft adapters at the minute. |

I am definitely happier when im cutting something kai..
After seeing your thread sbv. I thought 'why the hell not'.. plus id never used a router before and it seemed the perfect excuse..lol
Im woosing out and buying Tims adaptors ,for both engine and drive shafts.. _________________ '76 bay going superfly TDI |

| I'm really liking the table/router solution to DIY gearbox adaptation. I think I'll be following that route myself soon. I have a duff Passat box here to practice on too so I'll be more confident going at the box I will actually use. |

You're using an a4 engine and box aren't you? I need to get in touch with Tim and get my adaptor plate ordered too.

The happy couple reunited again...
Had enough time to get it back in on the engine mounts,and this is the space i have at the gearbox mount end.
