Hi
Just purchased a 5 speed to go with my ej25 but stumped with off set gear box shifter v vw (74 bay )anyone done this conversion ?they say use a uni joint but not as easy as it seems ...and vw and subie metric but everything i look at re uni joint is made in US and in imperial....

Hi I had similar issues converting my early bay. Have a look on my build thread in the last couple of pages. I went with the Uj for shifter as it seemed like the best option rather than bolted plates together. I used a Vauxhall corsa steering UJ and it gives a nice tight shift but as you say so much more work but a better outcome imo

Superbugs (1302 or !303) had uni joint between the steering box or rack and the steering column
