cheers for the help Obonobo - seems obvious now im on the laptop - on a ipad that option didn't show! hopefully it will work now?!! if it does heres the calorifier now mounted behind the bulkhead.



also no need for the spare wheel well so that got chopped.......



there is a void next to the fuel tank that is wasted space so perfect for the ECU and relays etc in a nice box....it will have a lid



with the chargecooler in place battery access is difficult so the plan is to stack the leisure and engine batteries one over the other and make more efficient use of the space. access to the lower battery will be through the bottom of this box leaving the other battery tray for the air tank and valves

bit more progress....

I am using a York air conditioning pump for my air suspension - I bought a recon one a few years ago off ebay but it comes with a v belt - got this machined for me to run a multi grooved belt (thanks Jp) so can start mounting this soon!



before and after....one on the left was a 99p bargiain on ebay!



made the lid and lock for the upper battery box...this is strengthened underneath to avoid flexing.



Also made the removable floor to provide access to the lower battery....

been busy on Jps but got a bit more done.....
Many years ago when I started this project, key locks didn't exist for when you go in the sea, so I made my own hidden behind the rear plate with a combi lock....however now I have a key lock its no longer required os I removed it, plus I wanted to modify the no plate light....this one is from a t5 - nice little unit and easy to fit. before

I also want a bike rack system built into the van a bit like Vauxhall corsas have which will be a multi purpose mount for tow bar / rear mounting for storage box etc...so me & JP started on this - fortunately vw made three factory tow bar mounts on the chassis rail which wre handy to mount the outer slide tubes....

Nice thinking on the bike rack. I was thinking the whole rear bumper could pull out but too keen to get the van on the road so not made it yet

I had a Brazilian bumper as I like the slash cut....but it was a bit bent so a bit of judicious pulling got it sorted....

The rock and roll seat is brilliant, the storage/access panels are brilliant and the bike rack....well.... brilliant...


At the end of the build, is this bus going to turn out to be a transformer....
