What year?

If its the early coil on plug type then your best of modifying it to one of the later types.

Or just swap it but they early ones are proan to failures

That's a wasted spark system. Made from 1996.

Single coil pack.

Cheers Kai! Is that good or bad? Is this the best option for replacement or are there better alternatives? Sorry for the million questions but its a bit of a mystery to me!

Just look for an identical replacement. It's the pre 1996 coil on plug types that are a pain. Your current system is ok.

What's up with your current coil? Is it not sparking?

The front right hand one occasionally sparks to the base plate, ive changed the plugs and leads. I can't see any visible cracks in it but if you slightly touch that plugs lead a spark will come out of the coil! I've swapped the leads over but it's always the same connection on the coil that sparks!
It doesn't seem to spark very strongly but ive never checked sparks before so I don't really know how strong it should be.
No error codes, vibrating at all speeds, sounds like its missing or coughing slightly.
I did have an almighty coolant leak a month ago when the top rad pipe split and everything got soaked in coolant , I hosed it off as much as I dared but maybe something's corroding?
