..as per the title really.
So the VW input shaft in my 002 box is smaller than the Subaru one (no surprise to anyone) so I think I have the two choices.
I have a decent clutch with my Subaru engine so part of me says buy a Subaru input shaft from Richard at RJES (along with a bell-housing), but then I don't really know what other options are around for clutch plates with VW centres that will tie up with the Subaru flywheel etc etc
Your thoughts on this are much appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt. |

Hi
I run a 2.2 with a 091 box. Standard VW shaft, standard Subaru pressure plate, but used VW's biggest (=280mm) friction plate. It's the one for 2l VW engines, if I'm not mistaken. I just drive normally, not trying to win 1/4 miles. So the VW plate holds up. But when I put the pedal down with low speeds, the clutch slips a little. Not sure if anyone else has that problem, though; never heard anyone else complain about this. _________________ Greetings from Sietze
