|
|
Hi got a 2.0n/a in my 77 bay using standard 1600cc gearbox. I get 100 miles to £25 but I have to be honest I feel as though I'm screaming the nuts of it at 70 but it will scream round to 100! At the moment theres no rev counter. My question is what's the most economical gearbox transplant for good mpg and motorway cruising?
Proper glad I've done the conversion though!!!! _________________ autoinnovations-kempston.co.uk

I have a 6-rib 091 box installed. First big trip I did1L to 10km (roughly 28 mpg, if I calculated correctly). But it was running very hot, so that wasn't too good, I guess. Second trip was better but haven't topped it up yet, so can't calculate yet! Will do when done. _________________ Greetings from Sietze

Driving a '75 Bay with a EJ22 '93 and 091 6-rib box.
And it's a long time since it looked anything like this! |

I managed 130 miles to £40. But my turbo makes an addictive acceleration sensation.
Recently discovered its not running 100% too so I will hopefully get better fuel economy and probably a few extra ponies. _________________ Think......

| I've just done a quick calculation on a recent 400 mile trip and looks like I'm only getting 22 to gallon and that's with 915 5 speeded ouch! |

Right I think I've found a 091 box but the guy says it jumps out of 1st gear when decelerating? Any ideas? It's from a 83 t25.

That's what I get if I sit at approx 60mph. 200kms/20litres bang on!
70-80mph and it drops to 24-25mpg (uk gallons) - 8.6km/l _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
Your experiences are worth shed loads to others, including the f'ups - live and learn.
Wouldn't YOU rather learn by someone else's mistakes? So would they.
'78 Bay, 2 litre 091 box, EJ20 NA & the ashtray's on the 'right' side.
