Is the ATJ code 1.9 TDi out of a b5 passat a suitable engine for conversion into a bay?

Anyone tried it?

I dont think there should be a size issue with the motor, but what about wiring? I dont want to have to use the clocks etc from the donor but would have the whole car available for the conversion.

Thanks for any advice!

Dan

No reason it can't be done as far as I can see. The main issue I've seen in the past has been the immobiliser and how it links into the dash meaning people have ended up with the dash under the rear seat to retain all the original wiring for the engine... there maybe magic boxes out there now to get over this?

I plan on putting an AVG/AFN out of a Passat in my bus somewhen in the future mainly due to there love of running on WVO so would be good to see if there is an easy way to bypass the Immobiliser.

Not sure if any of these might do the trick
