As far as I know, this is possible. Bear in mind that you have to change from nose-poo (T2) to side-shift (T25), which I believe is not an easy mod (no experience myself, though).

I seem to remember a chap on here fitted the whole T25 shift set up into a bay, not sure how involved it was but perhaps easier than the T25 side shift mods you'd have to do.

i've got the full T25 setup in my late bay.

Although i didn't fit it, i have to say it works quite well and actually will free up space for a rad where the existing shift rods go between the chassis rails. (side shift diesel box)

basically the whole mechanism is just transplanted straight into the bay about 6" lower than the original shift rods. The T25 shift and box it sits in are cut into and welded into the cab floor.

The gearbox is primarily fitted to the engine for support and lateral restraint is through a slightly butchered top 'box mount found in later bays.

As i keep promising everyone, i will get round to taking pics at some point...

Hi guys, Ive fitted a 2.0 ltr Type 25 (6 rib) gearbox (code DK) into a 71 bay. OK its only 4 speed but the ratios are good! there are 2 minor mods to the gearbox to fit into the bay, A major problem is the linkage! Or is it, after many sleepless nights and vast amounts of red wine! Ive sorted it and its simples![/b]

Hi guys,

I'd be very interested in sseing how to do this!

I'm transplanting my EJ25 and T25 box into an early bay (which had a poked Corvair in it) so need to see how to do it.

I was thinking about swapping the shifter box from the T25 into the Bay.

Once the EJ25 is gone from the T25, it's getting an EZ30R and Subaru reversed trans love
