I was contemplating my conversion and ran into a fellow doing a 914 with a reversed intake manifold on his 2.5l and It looked really nice. I was wondering if anyone has done this with their EJ22? It would work well with the conversion going into a type2 baywindow since the throttle body hits the firewall. I have the rjes throttle body reverser (his work is great and I really appreciate his services) but I don't like the way it looks and I can't seem to get the throttle cable (rjes as well) connected properly. I really like the looks of the reversed manifold. Has anyone gotten a hold of relocation brackets for the alternator? Any advice, pictures, thoughts and criticism is much appreciated |

As far as im aware the manifold itself should swap around easy enough its just the small case of the pipework and cabling.
There is a guy on sccobynet selling alternator relocating brackets for the EJ20, whether they will fit the 22 i don't know but take a look in the trade for sale section. |

My phase one manifold on my ej20 was easy to flip around. Which also made the RJES cable a doddle to fit as was all facing the right direction.
I happened to purchase the last RJES alternator relocation bracket which is a real nice bracket. I'm sure I posted pictures of it in the past.
But there are many other suppliers of relocation brackets on the internet. _________________ Think......

Are you only flipping the intake manifold?
or are you doing the water manifold as well?
sometimes the fuel rail hard liner interferes with the water manifold but there are easy ways around it. _________________ 1974 1303 Germanlook Suba-Beetle

I couldn't reverse my intake manifold as my IAC is huge and fouled something, can't remember what as it was ages ago _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Finally flipping my manifold to have better clearance at the firewall.
Should I flip the fuel rail with the manifold or leave it the way it is?
Thanks |

Leave the fuel rails alone. Just keep the injector plugs in the same locations and plug into the new rotated injectors. Hope that makes sense _________________ Think......
