Have you checked for error codes?
Sounds like the cam or crank position sensor isn't reading. _________________ 1974 1303 Germanlook Suba-Beetle

Yeah your cam belt. Could be a tooth out. Have you had it off?
Yours is a dual cam right? _________________ Think......

This may help as three times now i have had the same problem:
A couple of months back i stalled and when i tried to drive off it would cut out unless i was very light on the throttle. Stopped and checked engine to find a split in my air intake. No fault codes showing. Get me home fix with some tape and was on my way. Obviously replaced hose since.
Another similar problem was a worn knock sensor, however this did come up as an error. However identical symptoms.
Most recently was a worn TPS (throttle position sensor) this should throw a code.
When i did my conversion originally i had alot of problems with fuel surging (i would have no full throttle only half pressed would get me anywhere) however on fitting the filter after the pump and a harder walled fuel line this stopped.
Hope this helps! _________________ 89 Crew Cab (Subaru 2.5na)

| i had this when i didnt have a fuel injection tank so i guess it was starving the fuel, this made me go through 2 fuel pumps until i got the right tank. Then it would only do that under wide open throttle, but i just got used to it and learned to back off a tiny bit. Anyway good luck! |

A little birdie told me this problem was due to poor quality fuel lines compressing _________________ Think......
