Help needed! Turbo injection pump wires

Hi Guys

Need a bit of help! I'm just in the process of putting a turbo on my 1.8D Ford engine and I have just fitted the new fuel pump which has a 2 wires coming out of a unit on the side. From what I can tell this is an electro magnet used in the timing.

My question is were do i wire this in? I'm guessing it just needs power off of the ignition. But dont really know. Also I'm wondering if it needs a relay to power it on?

Any help would be great. The turbo and fuel pump are all off of a Ford p100 1.8TD.

I have got a copy of Ford TIS which has a wiring diagram in it if you give me the ford model and engine no I will see if is on the disc and send you a copy.

Im not sure of the engine number as I removed all the bits from the scrap yard and the car has now gone. But the fuel pump was off of a 1.8TD Ford Seira P100 pick up truck.

Dude,

I'll have a look on my Saph engine when I get home as this should be the same as the P100. I assume it's a lucas pump?

Bit of a weird one this... one wire goes to a temp sensor next to stat housing then earths.. so guessing this kicks in when engine is upto temp.. on my escorts TD this wire just earths so safe to say you can just earth that one. The other wire passes through 3 block connectors changing colour each time endingup as a black wire heading for the fusebox... unfortunately I didn;t strip that much out of the sierra.. I have it wired on my escort td at the mo but need to get this powered up just to see what comes out of the fuse box guessing it is just a live though!

Wiring on this stuff is a right game... and manuals and even the stuff superleggo gave me doesn't seem to agree with what you have half the time.

Nice one chap. Well it looks safe to say I can just wire this into the ignition on then and the other too earth. I asume that this needs power the whole time the engine is on so I guess it needs to be wired to come on and off with the engine.

Almost there! Just need to plum in my water/ oil cooler. From what I remember these just piggy back of the heating pipes, can any one confirm this please?

Heater out on top of block.. into 1 end of oil cooler and out the other end to the heater matrix then back upto the bottom rad hose T-Piece.

Don;t think it matter really where you put in as long as it's in series on the heater circuit.

Hmmmm well that's how I intended to do it but now looking at this pic of my Saph engine

it look like bottom rad hose to oil cooler then to matrix then matrix to top of block (curly pipe top left of block in pic).

So does this mean the heater flows into the top of the block ? and pumps from the bottom T in the rad lower hose? always thought it was the other way for some reason.
