Can I replace Subaru temp Gauge sender for after market one matched to a gauge or will the ecu throw a wobblely if so is there any where else it can go

But drill n tap whatever thread you want to match your gauge

Tuzza, you don't actually say what engine you have fitted and into what VW.
Have you used RJES parts including loom?

I have used RJES parts throughout my EJ25 conversion into a T3 crew cab. Rich sets the looms so they work with the VW temp gauge with a resister fitted to correct the temperature. I also have an after market digital gauge in an extra pod on the dash. This is fitted using an in line sender fitted just before the radiator. Gives a spot on reading.

Hi The bus is 1964 split also I have fitted digital temp gauge I was going to try a resister in the wire just before the gauge if that does not work I will fit the matched sender some way

it depends on the size of the sender.

Some will fit straight into the stock gauge sender port but others will be abit big in diameter.

I found one of mine was bit to big to fit, there is a lip inside the coolant manifold just at the end of the thread that stops them screwing in.

Very delicate use of a drill a tiny bit smaller than the threads cleared it up enough for the sender to fit.

Thanks for that but reason i wanted to know I was told that the stock sensor was also used by the ECU but if I use that it gives the gauge a way out high temp reading .

Someone has been telling you porkies.

There are actually two sensors side by side on the manifold.

The big brown 2 pin one is the ECU sensor for turning fans on, cold start enrichment etc.

The smaller single wire one is for the temp gauge only.
