Hi everyone
i.m hoping you can shed some light on a poblem i have with the subaru imobilzer on my van.i am runniing a 2.0t using a loom from Richard which has been faultless. last weekend it would not start,i did the fault code check and have 53. the imobilzer light was also on, i have not had anyproblems in the past since the conversion. could the imobilzer be playing up ? does the scooby key have a battery in it to help it comunicate with the anntena and imobilzer ? the van has been starting after a while when i have disonected the unit and replaced it.
all help apreciated.
regards

There's no battery as I said earlier. The black bit...do not lose this. Go buy a big, feck off screwdriver & some tape.
Tape the black thing to the screwdriver, or something large
That is the chip. Do not lose it. Never has summit so small gonna cost you so much if it goes missing
Pipe lagging works well to hold your modified screwdriver in the induction loop. You'll have to fiddle a bit with it's placement.
Ohhh, there's no battery in the key that you need to worry about, well maybe for central locking etc but now I've mentioned it thrice....

The best thing to do, as I discovered, is to use the original ignition barrel because the reader is very particular about position of the chip. That's probably why it's not being read a slight movement out of range. _________________ autoinnovations-kempston.co.uk
