I have a '77 Bus I'm putting in a 2.2l and i got my wiring harness from tom shiels...with all that said I have a black junction box from a vanagon that has all my wires like ECU/TACH, IGN ON, FUEL PUMP, and so on.
I have connected my ALT wire to the dummy wire in the dash and I also connected the OIL LIGHT up to the switch in the motor and when I put the key in the ON position both lights work and shut off as they should. The problem I'm having is the FUEL PUMP doesn't click on when the IGN is in the ON position. I have the FUEL PUMP wire in the junction box connected to the power wire to the fuel pump. But i have a black wire coming from the heater blower harness on the bus and when I connect that wire to the IGN ON wire in the black box fuel starts spitting out of the pump until I shut off the IGN.
I also don't have any back-up light now either.
Has anyone done wiring that could help me to find out if this is correct? What do I do with the heater blower harness?
