Rad in the back works for me.
I have been running this set up for 10 years now with no issues.

BUT as said it does rely on the fans, which are on a lot, so as long as they are fed with electricity I see no problem.

Yes I have a warning light for the big Fan, the smaller one is controlled via the ECU so I leave that alone.

Warning light only gives a short warning, only had a fuse blow once whilst on the motorway and it got hot very quickly! Eeeek

What you can do Neil is add a light to the +ve side of the fan & to ground.
If the light's on...the fan's running. If it's off but you *know* it should be on - you have a blown fuse/broken fan Happy
