what van bay/t25?
if its a bay some are quite stiff to wind up i could see a aftemarket kit struggling have you tried lubing the channels up to make the window lift easier? _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

There is an article on the web I read somewhere on the web it may even be on this forum where the rivets are drilled out of the bay manual window winder and the same on a BMW e36 electic window motor. The two are then swapped over as the gears that mesh with the spring drive thing are identical.
I did down load the article as I have got a pair of 3 series BMW doors lying about and was going to do the conversion. But I have got too much on at present for that sort of mod. Not sure where I filed it at present but let me know if you can't google it and I will have a dig for my hard copy.
My windows were tight and had to tap in the bottom of the quarter light pillar by a couple of mm and it solved the problem. |

Sorry folks I stand corrected my memory is no good enough! It looks like E30 is the correct item not E36.
However I will have a look at the e36 items I have lying about and see if they are suitable as well and post an update.
Still looks a neat conversion. I was thinking of adding some micro switches to the window handle and using it as the switch so it look standard. This set up is used by some of the hot rod boys. |

I fitted electric windows to my type 2, I used golf motors, they fit straight on
just drill out the rivets on the housing that fits on the cable tube and they fit on, even the location dog on the housing lines up. I think they were off a mk 2 golf but can,t be sure. |

Damnit, I've just modified Ford Ka risers & was going to make new cables up.
Any photos of the motors please? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
