It can chuck an idle air fault (code 24) if not grounded.
It's a case of suck it and see _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

| Im still not sure what wire is put to earth, at the moment i have earthed the black wire and it seems ok , no stalling issues. Some say to plug the 2 NPS wires together but it still did the stalling thing so i earthed the black wire, was that the correct thing to do ? |

Blacks ground.
I seem to remember one wire goes to the ecu, the other to the switch. The other side.of the switch goes to chassis ground via the main harness _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Earth the black, stick a paper-clip between the two contacts where the switch goes.
Haven't we had this convo already? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Wires? Join the 2 terminals in the connector with a bit of wire. A chopped down & bent paper clip works a charm. This is the easiest/quickest but it's not the neatest.
Or trace the wire back from the connector to the ECU & earth it. Chop off switch connector. Job done _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Doesn't matter i've found it.
Anyone who's interested it's neutral position switch.
I assume an "NPS" would only of been fitted to an auto?
Cheers Ian. |

| Wires ! yes when you get a loom converted it has 2 wires for the NPS switch !Its very simple what has to happen with these 2 wires. A straightforward answer please. I have manual box ( DK ) so no need for NPS . |

Oh right, sorry. I hadn't realised you hadn't done the wiring yourself.
Are the wires labeled? What's on the lables?
Who did the loom?
The wire from the NPS that returns to the ECU gets grounded.
(The switch grounds the ECU. The "other" wire, well it goes to ground - to complete the cct.)
*sarcasm mode on*
A straightforward answer might ensue if you told us some details.
I certainly lack in:
a/ Telepathic ability
b/ The ability to "remote view" your loom. Trust me, I'd love to be able to do this!
I'm sure others on here also lack these abilities I could be wrong though.
@ Ian. NPSs are found on manuals. One of it's functions is to tell the ECU is that the engine's not revving its nuts off in neutral ie in gear, vehicle moving.
Not fitting one can cause stalling on the overrun to a stop or an Idle Air fault (code 24, what mine would do) _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.
