My fuel pump has just packed up i assume driving along engine died instantly now no buzz when ignition turned on, fuel pipes are soft .however when i stick a meter on it first turn of the key shows 12v then drops off to nothing is that right / consistent with a pooped pump?
so before i encounter a parts desk in the morning with them asking what vehicle is it for anyone advise on a part no for a 12mm in and 8mm out or the minimum pressure+flow ? its for a 2.5 quadcam btw
Thanks in advance _________________ 1988 T25 EJ25 n/a.. it just makes more sense that way.. |

When you first turn the IGN on the pump should run for approx 1 second then stop. This is to pressurise the fuel system
A 3 bar one for a nat asp will do nicely
A bog standard High Pressure pump will be fine, RJES sells them
here's an e-bay one

That link will tell you what cars can be used for doner pumps £15 or so at a breakers _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

Just wondered about the pressure really found one with 3bar had it in my head i was looking for 5.
Yep the startup buzz for a second has gone..also its been getting louder the last coupla days, wondered why voltage dropped off if its not pressurising the pipes, pumped jammed im guessing... should have had a spare really
My first call would have been RJES but my bus is stranded and need to recover it tomorrow.
Thanks again Elusive
another coffee i owe you _________________ 1988 T25 EJ25 n/a.. it just makes more sense that way.. |

3 bar's fine for a nat asp.
If it's not pressuring the pipes on initial key on, it's prolly fecked.
Mine's not the quietest, but it gives me the sweet feeling it's running _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

All loaded up with a bosch part no (0580 464 070) visited the parts man.. no pattern part available in stock .. but came away with the bosch one instead a couple lottery tickets shy of £100
Fitted carefully trying not to set light to the golf club car park. turned the key but couldnt hear the pump .. turned over engine and it fires up..
The pump is way quieter then the last one even before it started to go wrong..almost non existant sound in the cab
all done and fixed
btw error code 32 (AFM) showed in the diagnostics as said in that ebay link.
Thanks guys .. _________________ 1988 T25 EJ25 n/a.. it just makes more sense that way.. |
