I must be Italian - look at all my spaghetti (groans, etc.) I can't believe how much wiring there is - the car has electric windows, mirrors and central locking, plus ABS so there's a fair amount of shizzle going on in there Happy

The engine is on the stand now as well ready to be cleaned and serviced Happy

There is a whole world of wiring in there - I reckon there is another 2 evenings work getting it all out as I'm having to be really careful due to not knowing what to throw away Happy

When I did my conversion I left the engine in and stripped the engine/ECU wiring from all the other crap (ABS, windows, air ride, etc) a few wires at a time. I then made sure it would start on the key so I had three wires left just like the VW ignition switch (in a splitty).
That way if I made a mistake I could look at the wiring and go back to the point where I had gone wrong.

*edit* If you need any help let me know as I have some helpfull diagrams with ECU pin outs and Engine pin outs but they are for non turbo models *edit*

Good stuff that is. Almost as nice as Drambuie

Wiring should be sooooooo much easier with the complete car as Cleverchap says.
I do have wiring dias for 2002 Impreza Turbo. When you are cutting stuff out look for common power supply wires ie switch lighting, washer lighting etc
Some of my wiring photos might be helpful to you in Scooby Power. I tried to layout the chopped loom as it came out from the car.
My biggest problem was working out what the connectors went to - you dont have that problem.
I did manage to find a 95% correct turbo dia for my NA EJ20. Only some pinouts were different (& the turbo bits)

Oh, dont drink Jagermeister before hand or during Wink

Wiring's not my speciality Sad so I might have to enlist help with this one Wink

I'm going to lay it out once it's out of the car and see what's what.

Just got off the phone with Richard Jones - I've asked him to let me know when the next batch of turbo bell housings come in (probably in a month or so).

There isn't a great deal else I can do because until my Polo is back on the road (waiting for carbs and inlet manifold) I can't take the van apart.

Tonight - wiring loom related fun!! Grin

My Legacy only cost £200 (although not a runner) - it was the £180 to have it posted from Bristol to Sheffield that bit.

The Subaru shell has now gone just leaving me with a big pile of bits! I've also found out that I've lost my Kennedy wiring diagram and instructions. Anybody got a spare one?

197 bhp is correct. I drove a Legacy single turbo for about a year. awesone to drive. Mine was a bit tired, and one of the worst corroded engines I've ever seen, but it was cheap and fast. I wouldn't hesitite to have another, but I doub't it's engine would remain attached for long without finding its way into a VW. The only reason I sold the old one was that it had an engine management fault which I could not trace.

Grin Thanks Richard - the bell housings are now almost ready. The only fly in the ointment is that the Polo is not Sad Bogg Brothers have still got my carbs and manifold and the top coats have not yet gone on. However, hopefully that will change this week so the van and its terminally ill 1.9DG can be taken off the road.
