erm, no extra header tank... just extra fittings on the one header tank (with an expansion bottle - as per subaru).

I realise that, I guess I sounded right in my head when I wrote this out.

Looking at the RJES coolant diagram where Rich has taken the feed for the T25 header, you've taken the same feeds/locations and feed the subaru header tank.... instead of the T25 cause you haven't got one Wink

you've been a massive help and I owe you a beer.

Very very grateful.

So I've been chatting to a couple of the known experts on this matter and I've opted to adapt my own kinda design for the coolant system going from what I have learnt from this forum.

So I ve choosen to go with a Vauxhall frontera header tank, I ran a 8mm bleed line from the radiator to the header tank, and for the turbo return line I did away with the Subaru header tank all together and basically joined the top hose connection to the bottom hose connections from the subaru header tank.

Pictures I hear you cry-

Turbo return outlet

I've taken to here-

Ive taken the bottom header outlet

to here-

The top header connection

I've taken to here-

The little bleed for the radiator-

Is connected to the subaru radiator here via a 8 mm tube I've ran the length of the car.

I hope this works Grin

Oooops, the bottom of the header should go to your stat line.
Your engine manifold pipe (your welded on bit) should go to the top of the tank.
You have your connections the wrong way around

The reason.... water/air/vapour flows into the top of the tank, the water falls to the bottom and out, the vapour remains. When the system pressurises the vapour/air exits via the cap.
I run my tank about 1" shy of the centre flange when cold.

I can't comment on the turbo pipes as I haven't got a clue

Elusive your correct, well spotted.

I've cocked up the post though and posted the pictures the wrong way round. I have infact done it as you've stated. I've now edited the previous post now so they are the correct way round.

It would have been sweet if they where the other way round as my hose connections are both different sizes at each end when connected. My hose connections are 15mm at one end and 20 at the other for both the top and hoses connecting the tank. I've had to be cunning to get them to fit correctly. I've even used the vauxhall hoses that came with the tank which made it very easy to fit the tank.

As for the turbo-
I''m confident that this will work but if it doesn't then I'll have to include the turbo return in with the header tank with a T piece in my top expansion tank and I'll then block the original turbo return which is already connected to the stat line.

Or

come up with something else lol

... ok i'm an idiot......

I managed to mangle up the hard pipe that leads to the stat housing some time ago ( it all came flashing back today when i went to change the bottom header pipe )..

Does this pipe also have a feed to the isv??? and then to which opening on the stat, top or bottom... cos ive taken that pipe away aswell

cheers

The black state line is the return from the ISV, you are correct.

It's fed coolant from the coolant manifold.
