Ride: 1969 VW Bettle, 1776.
Location: Oklahoma City, OK.
Details: My ride went from an ordinary hard-top sedan to an
eye-popping convertable. I cut away all of the excess metal from the body and then replaced it with fiber glass incerts, made by the people over at B.G.W. Enterprises. The front windshield is 4 inches in width. The Fenders were fabricated by the guys at glass-action.com. The rear fenders are 4.5 inches wider and the front fenders are 3 inches wider than stock. There are no plans for a roof. I plan to daily drive it when the weather permits. I am in the process of converting my engine from a 1776 to a 1983 Mazda 12a. I can hardly wait. I am excited about getting it completed. |

| found this site the other day while on the PPC mag site, my name is keith and i live near redruth in cornwall, my daily is an 83 panel van that i've had on the road for a year, have so far replaced the complete braking system and some panel repairs, have been looking at engine swaps which brought me to this site, current motor is 1900 w/c but want something with more power for hills and better mpg as it's bloody expensive going anywhere in it, the diesel conversions look the way to go especially a td, rad not a problem as it's already there, just adaptor plate from somewhere, mounts, would i need a swirl pot in the tank or fuel line? then it's lowering and wheels and an interior. |

Ride: 1972 Dormobile in white with blue metalflake. Lowered all round. Fitted with Subaru EJ22. Using a Kenedy adapter and clutch. Stock 1600 box. Radiator from TSR mounted in the back with twin 16in Kenlowe fans. Fans are on all the time on the motorway.
Its been running for a few months now. And done some long trips. Gives 25mpg round town and 30mpg pulling my trailer and bikes etc on a long run.
Cruises nicely at 70 to 80. Has hit 90, felt like more to come!
Jobs still to do: I want to fit a hydraulic clutch, I need to fit a heater before the winter! |

Ride: 66 split camper, EJ22
Details. Bought in 96, no engine or interior, full renovation and update, .now runs 2.2 legacy with home made adapter to Porsche 915 box. Rack and pinion steering, narrowed ball joint front beam, disk brakes and servo assist. Rear IRS conversion still running drums. Rear mounted radiator with two Spal fans.Exterior mods kept to a minimum, radiator grill and air scoops aside. Custom interior. single colour paint job, blacked out windows and five Spoke alloys.
It's been on the road since 2001, the only problem was getting the cooling set up working efficiently, that sorted its been great fun. Still a few things could do with improving at some piont, but for now I'm just going to ues it.
