Whatsthe best kind of battery to use for my leisure battery?

I run my air suspension and large stereo system from my leisure battery so it gets plenty of use.

Any suggestions would be great?

Cheers

hi Al - glad to hear your back upand running (saw your other thread)
Having wasted lots of £ in the past on various leisure batteries in various vans Im actually thinking of not using a proper leisure battery at all as they seem to take a lot longer to charge than a normal car batt....plus they are more expensive.

I know everyone will say that car batts arent designed to run flat and will be therefore less life expectancy but to be honest I would rather replace a cheap, easy to find 2nd hand batt (try the scrappy) than an expensive leisure one that once flat takes ages driving abuot to recharge.

i guess it depends on the way you use it but for me i gnerally have a long journey so arrive fully charged, then local driving only (if any) and lots of use of batt (stereo, lights, heater etc) then a long journey home which is too late for any recharging. In this scenario car battery seems to be much better.

Yer I've also been running normal batterys as leisure batterys so maybe I should keep on doing it- the price is certainly more appealing and do enough miles to just about to keep em just about recharged.

I guess If you run normal batteries get ones with 3/5 year guarantee and make sure you keep the receipt then if it fucks up get another Happy
