There are 3 fuel pipes? at the back of the engine. I take it the one coming from the swirl pot (black metal cannister) is the main fuel feed in to the injectors.

One must be the return fuel line to the tank, but what is the other one

That black metal pot is the fuel filter

I might be wrong but the third fuel line is for the emissions, I.E. carbon cannister.

Any way you dont need it...... I hope so cause I didn't bother with mine

its easy to tell by tracing where they go

supply will run directly into the the fuel rail on the oil filler side at the back

return comes out of the pressure regulator and goes back to the tank

and the smaller one is the purge line to the charcoal canister

Thanks Richard,

A picture tells a thousand words Grin . At some point i will obviously need to figure out a way to fit a return pipe to my fuel tank somehow .

I believe it is possible to modify the filler neck arrangement to incorporate a return pipe, but i was thinking this might increase the fuel vapours coming from the filler cap vent .

So perhaps it would be better to drill the top of the tank and fit a pipe adaptor, perhaps by the sender hole?? so i could gain access to tighten the nut on the inside of the tank.

Unless it is possible to remove the fuel sender plate drill and fit the pipe adapter to this instead?

It would be interesting to know what others have done.

If you go for a top down return, fit a dip tube to stop frothing.
I've just modded my new tank to the same design of my old tank

Hmm does your return feed actually enter the top of the fuel tank or via the filler neck?
