he said that the 2000 box was bigger??

Actual box should be the same size I believe, certainly the 2 sat on my garage floor look the same size. Input shaft is definately a bit longer and bh is different but would assume the actual box is the same as they fit in place of the 1600 to the same mounts !

The 2 litre box is 10mm longer so you have to shorten your gear linkage-well thats what I did on the recomendation of Cog Box and all has been greaty. Well you dont actually have to shorten the linkage-just move the whole that holds the set screw 10mm back.

thanks for that, so will i have to change the shaft? it don't matter at the mo anyway as i ain't got a 2 litre box yet.
i put some bigger tyres on the back today, that might help a little with keeping the revs down.

depends what you are doing with the box - if your adaptor plate or original engine set up requires a 1600 box then yes. The 2ltr shaft is 10mm longer - you can just cut off 10mm but ideally you would swop the shaft which is fairly straightforward (see your haynes manual)
