Richard - dont suppose you've looked at using friction plates from old shape vw LT's with you're bellhousing kits?
being an LT owner, i was just looking in a parts catalogue and noticed that the friction plates for 6 cylinder 2.4 turbo diesel LT's are 228mm... I'm guessing that the shafts will be the same splines as all other VW's of that age, but I'd be suprised if they werent a bit more heavy duty than t25 ones (considering theyre in vans up to 5.5 tonnes). just thinking they might be good cheap heavy duty clutch components to use on subaru conversions.... at the moment I'm running a heavy duty t25 one, but i had to order that from the US (and not sure how long its going to last either). _________________ '72 Ratty Bug - Subaru EJ20 Turbo motor. |

Thanks for the suggestion. A quick look in the Sachs catalogus shows the LT clutch for the earliers model of LT 2.4 TD having 23 splines for the input shaft, which means it is not the same. I'd imagine the LT box whould have a much bigger, truck - like input shaft, and am surprised thet the disc is only 228mm diameter. _________________ Regards,

As far as I know the only other vehicles which use the same spline are a fairly small number of old Vauahalls, Alfas and Porsches. There is a Vauxhall disc with the same spline and a 228mm diameter, but it is not suitable. _________________ Regards,
