Im trying to trace someone who was in the show and shine at vanfest 2008. they had a blue splitscreen, possibly a panelvan? with yellow airbrushed stars on the side and a subaru legacy engine conversion with a turbo thomas exhaust, which is why im trying to trace them as i too have a subaru legacy engine in my split.
however, he had a mid-mounted volvo v50 radiator with two porsche kenlow fans, whereas my radiator is at the back. he said his engine runs at 90*C.......mine runs at 110*C!
i really need to get in touch with this guy as i want to do my cooling system like his. i took a phone number off the spec board displayed with his bus, but its not recognised when i call it. my bus is off the road right now as i live up north and the amount of salt they throw about up here is unbelievable, wouldnt do the bus much good. hopefully itll be back on the road in april, so really want to get the cooling system sorted by then. if anyone can put me in touch with this guy i would be eternally grateful. there were two names on the spec board, perry and ben fellows.....if thats any help.
cheers.

the guy you are looking for does post on here although not very much. and it is a panelvan.

I seem to rememebr though that the ideas he used for his cooling were taken from other VWKD contributors anyway - i think he was using some of Elusive Strangers ideas in fact...

I would suggest you have a good look through the cooling section - you will find all you need there.

In the mean time i will try and rememebr his user name

As Rich implied, he basically copied mine Wink

However, mine will happily sit at m/way speeds at around 80-85°C. The fan only comes on if I'm on the M25 or in slow traffic

You've probably been in touch by now, but the van belongs to Perry. I have his mobile number from when he bought parts from me, but don't want to dish it out without asking first. I don't know whether it is a current number as I've not heard from him for a while. I can try asking whether he minds me giving out his number?
