Hi,
I've just found this glow plug relay pic on another forum.
Am I right in thinking that pin 50, by going to the starter solenoid, effectively acts as going to the ignition switch? I'm fairly clueless on wiring and just trying to keep wiring running up and down the van to a minimum.
Cheers

Wouldn't the wire on the starter only be live when the ignition is turned right round (ie when starting)
Def sounds like it should be the ignition feed one though. _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

Cheers JP,
Decided to use the ford glow plug relay, checked the wiring diagram and like you said it goes to the ignition. Not too bad. The VW golf relay has all the wiring going through the bulkhead to the fusebox. Seems like a waste of wiring, so just going to use the ford one which is remote in the engine bay.
thought this link might be useful to someone, looks like a cheap, simple and fault finding friendly solution.
