|
|
Got a T25 with a 1.6TD JX engine that is now smoking well due to rings gone.
I have been looking for a replacement engine and have been recomended using an AAZ engine. Im happy to do this buyt need to know a few things first...
Does it use the same ancilleries i.s. diesel pump, turbo/manifolds e.t.c
Does it use same engine mounts?
I have heard clutch/flywheel is a straight swap from the JX, is this true?
Are the wires/fuel lines all in correct place (i would assume so if ancilleries fit across).
Any other things i may need to know??
Cheers

everything from the jx will bolt straight to the aaz engine the only difference externally between the aaz engine and the jx is the aaz is 16mm taller in the upper part of the block under the head gasket but this doesnt make any odds to the fitment.make sure you fit a CRANKSHAFT SPIGOT BEARING to the engine as front wheel drive cars dont have them!. the turbo oil drain should have enough slack to fit ok still, the original dipstick hole is smaller on the jx than the aaz so that will need sleaving to seal the bigger block hole apart from that its easy going much like swaping the jx for a new jx. the new engine will have loads more torque but less revs than the old one so while the engines out i would be looking for the highest geared petrol box i could find to make the most of the new engine _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

i might be interested in your old engine for rebuild depending on how much you'd want for it and where you are in the country? _________________ Second Gear All The Way Baby!
