On another forum there's a discussion going on after a post with the Youtube clip on a T3 that totally is demolished in a crash test. The most irritating with the discussion is the lack of information sources, there are only rumours and I hate it.

So, if you ever get into a discussion about the T3's safety, this can be really handy. Of course the old 80's are not as safe as modern in cars in any perspective. But the T3 is not immortal.

very interesting. Ive always wondered about how effective the deformation panels/ chassis memebers were. Beware splitty owners that dont have these Eeeek I had a friend in portsmouth who had a head on in a bay at 30 mph - it made a big mess but he walked away - the owner of the bus wasnt to pleased though....he had put it in for a service and the accident happend on a 'test drive'. !

makes you wonder the effect of modifications such as lowering and all that welding we get up to!!!

The famous clip showing an orange crew cap getting compleatly distroyed was not carried out with 60 Km/h as it says but with 120Km/h. Also the car was stuffed with sacks of sand. The test was carried out by the producers of the test stand to show its efficiency. I agree the T3 is a pretty tough car. Since modern cars are build "soft" to accept more impact energie choose a modern car as an accident opponent. Happy
Cheers Stefan
