temp sits about normal and i can drive miles befor the fan starts and it goes out quickley. i went marlborough to raf kemble last week very hot day and no problems. i did add an extension to the scoop last week putting it more in the air flow . i have a light on the dash that lets me know when the fan is on. i run an escort van for my job and wired a light on that to compare fan opperation . the fan comes on and off at random intervals just the same. i need to gear the transmission up do you know if a 2ltr box is higher in top gears. regards nobby |

As far as I can remember the ratios are the same it is just the final drive gear that ups em all. So yer you get a higher fiinal drive-higher every thing! _________________ www.faltownskateboards.com |

Any of you guys got a acurate temp reading from your engine ?
I've just put the gauge out of my bus into my escort and it claim I'm running at 60 !! which seems a little low. My bus used to run around 80.
I'm wondering if I should be changing the sender. _________________ 1971 Devon Bay with 1800 Ford Turbo Diesel Engine (wip)

Yo yo JP how do?
Yer I recon mine runs at 80-100 busting around cornwall and a solid 100 on the motorway. I recon I need to get a rad up front some were but I havent had any problems as yet so I'm concentrating on body work while the weather is fine.
I'd be interested to know what every one else runs at? _________________ www.faltownskateboards.com |

at last i have a 091 gearbox from a 1974 australian bay. just fitted it and the revs are in a better place . drives well , 70 mph crusin speed and the engine sounds 100% better. i have been camping four times so far and i want to go to scotland later this year so it should be a good test. nobby |

yes it was me £205 on ebay. i jumped in at the last and won it. i had a trip of 300 miles , but a very, very, very good buy. the only problem is the input seal leaks so i will pop the engine out this week and fit a new one. my cooling system is fine even in the hot weather pulling air from just above the road doesn't cause problems. i will post some pictures of the updatad cowl... nobby |
