Hi can anyone point me in the right direction, I currently have my 2.2 legacy engine in the back of my T25. The main problem is that where the current air filter hose is located it is touching the sides of the engine bay, and once i put a filter on, the filter will be pushed up against it. Does anyone have a solution to my problem, and what filter can I simply put on?
Cheers,

Jack

Jack:
I've used several filter arrangements on vanagon (T25) conversions including the stock subaru air filter box, a KEP air filter enclosure, and an aftermarket (K&N) cone style air filter.
The cone style are the noisiest but also tend to be the easiest fit because they are much smaller than KEP or Subaru's offering.
As to modifying the air intake plumbing to clear your firewall....I've heard of folks heating the black plastic slowly to reform the tube in such a way as to avoid the firewall (engine bay wall). Have also seen engine bay walls cut to avoid the tubing although that's a bit drastic.

All the best,
Brent
