This is a VSS called speedpulse. It was initially made to run a navigation system with the old t3 (t25), Golf, Jetta, ect. odometers. Me and some mates with t3s with an EJ22 Subaru engine use it as a vss signal and it fits and runs perfectly. Donīt bother using those tin gear vss things you bolt on the rear driveshaft.
