Yeah I cant remember exactly what it was you need to use but there was T25 driveshafts that were a bit shorter or you could change the CV joints and that made up the difference. Its been donebefore so ...

Im not sure about how much power they take but I was told the stock bus gearbox takes around 140-150BHP?

I gave up on converting to a beetle gearbox because of the amount of work needed to fit and ...

Ah I never thought about the temp of the water coming directly from the engine once the thermostat opens.

The main reason behind using the plastic pipe was the price but guess its best to do a job ...

Im currently in the process of moving a radiator to the front of the van and found this stuff - http://www.pipestock.com/pph/pipe/10-bar/

Seems that it works upto 100degC which should be safe enou ...

Nice work on the rebuild!

I thought about doing this for my TD turbo but it only leaks a bit of oil and has hardly any play in it.

How hard did you find getting the turbo apart with rusty bolts ...

Our van is insured with Adrian flux this year because they were the cheapest and one of the few available to insure younger people! Might try other companys once were both over 19.

Only about £600 ...

Managed to get the Caddy starter to work and the engine now turns over nicely!

Turned out to be something todo with the throw out bearing arm in the end.

If anyone is ever stuck with rebuilding ...
