turns out code 53 is immobiliser related - could be antennae ring open circuit ?- just ordered secondhand parts to rectify

managed to reconnect the diagnostic socket (obd1)
tried to connect obd2 scanner with an adaptor - ob1 to obd2 - not working

i am at a loss . . .
would the lack of signal from the crankshaft sensor to the ecu cause the ignitor to earth the yellow feed wires?
have i fried the ecu?

I have a karmann ghia with a subaru na ej20
it is running okay except for for one issue . . .
no2 injector works at higher revs than tickover especially when on choke/cold circuit
when normal ... |

i have a karmann ghia with a n/a 2 litre lump
however, the clutch does not fully disengage - and slips
i fitted a bus clutch arm - beefier to keep ... |

hi there - i might be able to help - there must be additional coding on the ecu - does its says 8k ?
if not i still might be able to help especially if your ecu has 3 plugs instead of the usual 4 ... |

i have a factory immobiliser - siemens - MY96 - MY99 used a fixed code system
i have moved the transponder chip out of the key ... |

ej20 n/a 1998 - it has factory immobilizer
i managed to get it started today - changed ecu - fortunately did not need recoding
i have connected both the ignition relay and the fuel pump relay o ... |

however, it was short lived . . .for the moment anyway
i have moved the wires to the ecu through the firewall on the car
now the car ... |
