I was told by a Subaru tuner that the Subaru gauge doesn't move away from the gauge centre position until it gets to 110 degrees Celsius..

thats a pretty standard thing on Jap cars, my Mazda and Ni ...

Well admittedly it doesnt get quite as cold here, it was winter solstice yesterday and I still drove home at 9:30 at night with the A/C on Laugh Out Loud
only to keep the windscreen demisted though.

They just fit inline on the hot/outlet side of the engine with some sort of bypass plumbed back in to the cold side.

Some people just can't get the stock Subi thermostat to work properly, usually b ...

Sounds about right for the EJ but a Type1 is a bit heavier than that.

68kg may be just the long block without the tinware, gen, carb, muffler etc.

Then where does excess fuel go now? Is your fuel system dumping it somewhere?

Don't know whether it would matter, running-wise. I would say no.

What model engine/ECU are we talking?

the later ones are 2 speed but the early stuff is single speed.

Mine is an early one (1992 Legacy) and just ran one fan for the rad and both for A/C.

Every EJ engine, the EG and I think even the EZ and diesel engines all use the same bellhousing, the later ones just use a couple of extra bolts.

Easiest thing is to just find another EJ22 or an EJ ...

Does yours have 2 temperature senders in the coolant manifold or just one?

the ones with 2 are easy, just unscrew out the old subaru sender and screw in the new one that belongs with your gauge but ...

The one before the cat is what the ECU uses, the back one after the cat is just to make sure the cat is working.

have you tested the gauge for accuracy and how quickly does it get to 75c?

There is generally 2 models of thermostats with most EJ engines, one that opens at 77c for cars with A/C and one at 82c fo ...
